I took my first pole fitness class with Pole Passion Bognor in 2013. I had one taster session whilst at university and started scouring the internet for local classes once graduating from Brighton University .
I was hooked from my first class with Pole Passion. It’s a very alternative way to exercise, along with being part of a fun, friendly and supportive community.
In 2015, I qualified as a Pole instructor. Despite not having a regular class due to work constraints I enjoyed teaching combinations on the pole developing student’s strengths and cardiovascular fitness. I also enjoy choreography elements of pole fitness leading me to complete in Miss Pole dance 2017 Amateur and Semi Pro and more recently Southern Pole Championship 2020.
Over the past years I have been lucky enough to partake in aerial silks, hoop and trapeze workshops which sparked my interest immediately. More specifically aerial silks despite the technical elements and strength components required. I started taking 1-2-1 silks classes and due to little to no aerial silks classes in our local area it gave me the drive to complete my Aerial Silks instructor training with Xpert in 2017.
With regular classes I like to promote good technique and developing safe and controlled training I like to focus on strength and conditioning as well as pretty poses and drops. I love seeing the development of students from their first lesson to nailing their nemesis move.
I like to keep up to date with my own development by attending regular training sessions lead by fellow pole passion instructors and over the lockdown and the national toilet paper shortage of 2020 I qualified as a Beginner - Intermediate aerial sling, pole fabric and spin pole instructor with Spin City.
Outside of pole and aerial I work for the ambulance service and an Urgent treatment centre as a Paramedic Practitioner. In 2019, I completed my MSc in Healthcare Practice and am now happy to take a break from education for a little while. Some if this spare time is spent walking my faithful cocker spaniel.
